AYMC Math Tournament

Our inaugural Math Tournament for 2025 was a big success! Designed for students passionate about mathematics, this event featured a series of individual and team-based rounds for 6th to 8th grade students. It was an exciting day of math and fun!

Professor Po-Shen Loh, Carnegie-Mellon Professor and the US International Math Olympiad head coach, visited us again and gave a talk on "Future-Proofing Our Children".
Summer 2024 Math Camp
During the summer of 2024, AYMC hosted week-long camps on various topics, such as Fun Math, competition math, ciphering, and coding. Students of all ages and backgrounds attended both online and in-person camps.

Book Drive

How many books have you bought for your kids that they have grown out? Instead of collecting dust, these books may benefit other families, and can also help our math club! We will resell them at lower prices, and the funds will be used to pay our annual website cost, non-profit organization registration fee, and to purchase materials for our tutoring program. We need your help!
Book donation:
Time: July 25th - August 3rd, from 6:30 to 7:30pm everyday.
Location: Central Elementary Soccer Field - Pavillion
(1490 Merry Fox Ln, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216)
Book Sale:
Time: August 6th, Saturday, from 4-7pm.
Location: Wald Park Upper Pavilion
Books needed: Any academic books (AP, SAT, competition books), fiction/nonfiction books for kids, and picture books that are in good shape and don't have any writing or highlights inside.

Three of our club members, Albert Chan, Tina Gao, and Eric Wang, attended the 2022 MathCounts National competition in Washington DC!
Kevin's Writing Class
Writing is something that should be introduced early in a child's development. Expressing oneself quickly and accurately is an ability that needs to be cultivated since childhood. The Alabama Youth Math Club invited Kevin, who has been working as a writing tutor since graduating from Yale. He has achieved a lot in a few years, and he has accumulated a lot of experience in tutoring for creative writing. He gave a lecture on July 2nd, 2022, with a free Q&A talk.

The AMC 10/12 classes will be taught on Feb. 4, 18, 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25, and April 1, 8 and 15. The teachers are:

Summer Math Camp

O Sushi Fundraiser
June 12th - June 30th, 2021
At O Sushi in Hoover, AL, customers can tell the staff that they are supporting the math team, in which 25% of all proceedings will go to Vestavia Hills schools' math teams. The address is 5519 Grove Blvd, Hoover, AL 35226.
Dragon Boat Festival Fundraisers
May 16th, June 5th, June 12th, 2021
We lead three separate fundraisers selling zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) and qingtuan for Vestavia Hills schools' math teams. We raised around 4000 dollars for our math teams.
